Tuesday, May 20, 2008, 07:12 PM
We have recently had 2 home burglaries in our neighborhood. Please check the Crime Watch Corner (click the link in the upper right hand corner) for more information.
Also, someone stole, or at least moved, our "Crime Watch Alert" sign that was on Monet near Marsh Ln. If anybody saw anyone messing with this sign please let us know.

Pit Bull Attack -- email from Dolores Smith
Monday, March 31, 2008, 08:07 PM
Hi Neighbors:
This email has two purposes:
1) To let you know little Tobie (a small white dog), often seen in front of his home across from the greenbelt, who is always so happy to greet school children walking by and loves to crawl up in a warm lap to receive hugs, was attacked on Friday by a neighbor’s Pit Bull (a female who recently had a litter of puppies). This attack was with absolutely no provocation.
Thanks to a very kind neighbor, the Pit Bull was pulled off of Tobie (and called the police) with another neighbor quickly gathering Tobie and his owner, Betty Farrar, into his car for a rapid trip to All Creatures Veterinarian Clinic.
2) Tobie has many stitches and a dislocated leg. Yes, some would question why he wasn’t put to sleep. As pet owners know, if the Vet feels recovery is possible how can we make this final decision but rather will do everything possible to help our injured pet. As we also know the expense involved in treating our pets during traumatic situations like this can be staggering.
If you feel you would like to make a donation to help Betty with these expenses, anything is sincerely appreciated! She doesn’t know anything about this email so please do not mention it to her.
By April 15th please make a check payable to Betty Farrar and mail to or drop by the home of Dolores Smith – 2728 Monet Place, Dallas, 75287 (PH: 972.307.3393). I will give them to her on April 16th. Thank you for considering this request!
3) You are probably wondering about the owner and if they can be held liable for these expenses. Further investigation will be made as to this possibility. According to current knowledge and based on two previous dog attacks in LTNA by the same family’s dog, they will pay a fine to have their dog released back to them (from Animal Control) with no liability to the injured dog’s family for expenses incurred.

Found: orange cat
Sunday, June 10, 2007, 10:16 AM
Eileen Kornmeyer reports that there has been a large fluffy orange/white tiger cat in her bushes (2811 Monet) for the past couple of days. It wears a collar, black with white paw prints on it. Cat is friendly and appears to be declawed in front. She believes it is a male, but can't get close enough to see under all the fur, big fluffy tail. Very friendly and declawed in front - this in not an outdoor cat. If anyone knows the owner of this cat, please contact Eileen at: eileenkornmeyer695@msn.com Thank you.[ add comment ] | [ 0 trackbacks ] | permalink
