Residential garbage collection for LeLouvre /Timberglen is on Tuesday and Friday mornings and is provided in alleys, or if no alley is present, from the front curb. The City of Dallas has provided most residences with a 90-gallon polyethylene resin roll cart for automated garbage collection. The carts are emptied by means of a hydraulic grappler arm mounted on the side of the sanitation truck. Automated collection service reduces the number of employees needed to collect garbage and reduces the risk of employee injuries on the job.
Automated collection service does not allow for the collection of additional household trash not placed inside the roll cart. The 90-gallon cart, picked up twice weekly, has proven adequate in size. Households are encouraged to participate in the residential recycling program to reduce the amount of waste taken to the landfill.
Brush and yard trash will be picked up once a week on your regular collection days.
The use of plastic or paper bags to hold the garbage in the cart is optional although bagged food waste reduces cleanups. A little detergent and a rinse with a garden hose from time to time keeps the cart clean and odor free.
Customers who have not received a roll cart for automated service because of alley-space limitations must place household garbage in sealed plastic bags at least 1.3 mils thick, with a maximum size of 33 gallons and 50 pounds maximum weight for biweekly collection service. Two-ply waterproof trash compactor paper bags are also acceptable. Small brush, cut to 5 feet or less, tied in bundles and weighing less than 50 pounds, will also be picked up.
